Penguin Living Careers Immersion Day, 11th September 10am – 3.30pm, Conway Hall, London…
Penguin Living Immersion Days are a new series of events from Penguin Random House to help you improve your work, life and play.
Our first event focuses on careers, and will provide you with all the tools, tips and tactics to make the most of the world of work. Whether you’re looking for a first job, seeking a promotion, starting out on your own or returning to work, our authors will share their expertise and insight to help you get to the top. The day is split into three sessions so you can attend all, or whichever suit you best.
In Applying for Jobs, hosted by Milkround, the UK’s biggest graduate recruitment site, you will learn how to write a brilliant CV, improve your presentation and interview skills, and discover what employers are really looking for.
In Improving Your Career you will learn the art of self-promotion and how to network like a pro, how to improve your communication skills, and how to ‘act with gravitas’ to be taken more seriously. There will also be a workshop on handling stress in the workplace from Work and Well Being, and mindfulness coach Molly Greenwood.
In Career Choices you will learn how turn your passion into your living, practical guidance on how to change careers and insight from leading entrepreneurs on setting up and managing your own business. There will also be a workshop from leading career coach John Williams on how to set up a business in 30 days.
