As the Army, Navy and RAF’s top skiers showcase their skills on the slopes in Meribel, the team from BFBS Sport will capture live footage for BFBS viewers and listeners worldwide
Poles, skis and boards will be pushed to the limit as personnel pit their bodies against the snow and ice to clinch trophies in twelve events, including the adrenaline-fuelled Alpine Super G and the thrilling Snowboard Slopestyle.
BFBS Sport Producer, Jon Knighton, said: “From the opening to the closing ceremonies, we’ll be soaking up the alpine atmosphere and reporting on all the action from the pistes. And for a second year, Kia Motors have kindly provided BFBS Sport with a 4×4 Sportage vehicle to transport the team to Meribel for the championships."
From Sunday 2nd to Friday 7th February, Jon will be joined at the 63rd Championships by BFBS Reporter Cath Brazier and Cameraman Lee Kukor-Morgan.
Their interviews with Armed Forces skiers – plus former sergeant and Paralympian Mick Brennan – will bring audiences closer to the triumphs and dramas faced by the tri-service competitors.
As well as daily TV coverage on British Forces News (BFN) the BFBS Sport team will link live with Charlene Guy weekdays on BFBS Radio 4-7pm (CET) and relay reports and results on BFBS Radio 2.
And while the competition unfolds in the French Alps, BFN reporter Ali Gibson will also be covering Exercise Rucksack, the tri-service Nordic and Biathlon Championships at Ruhpolding in Bavaria from Tuesday 4th to Thursday 6th February.
