Captain Tom Moore Given Special Postmark To Celebrate 100th Birthday

All post handled by the Royal Mail between April 26 and May 1 will be stamped with an historic postmark in celebration of Captain Tom Moore’s 100th birthday, which takes place on April 30.

The Royal Mail postmark will read: “Happy 100th Birthday Captain Thomas Moore NHS fundraising hero 30th April 2020”.

It is further acknowledgment of the World War 2 veteran’s fundraising achievements of late, in which Tom has now surpassed £29M on his JustGiving page for NHS charities during COVID19.

A spokesman for Royal Mail said staff had already processed more than 100,000 cards and expecting thousands more in the build up to his birthday later this week.

Director of Public Affairs & Policy for Royal Mail, David Gold said: “As Royal Mail works to keep the country connected during these challenging times, we are honoured to issue a special postmark in celebration of his 100th birthday.
