Drivers Direct, one of the UK’s leading providers of temporary and permanent drivers to commercial organisations, have donated £2,500 to the Victory Services Club after fundraising throughout the year.  The majority of the donations came from the company’s annual black tie event at the Victory Club, Marble Arch in London earlier this year.

All Drivers Direct employees were asked to make a donation to the charity if they were attending the company’s all-inclusive annual black tie event with the total then matched by the company.  Every year the staff at Drivers Direct nominate a charity to support for the year ahead, from here a shortlist is created and reviewed by the board which is then followed by each Board Member casting their votes.

Gethin Roberts, Owner and Managing Director at Drivers Direct, comments: “Every year we highlight the importance of selecting a charity to raise money for at our black tie event.  Choosing a charity that supports injured servicemen and women is a charity that is particularly important to me, as I myself am an ex-serviceman.  Thanks to the kindness of the Drivers Direct employees, we have raised a significant amount for the Victory Services Club.”

Nigel Beet CBE, Chief Executive and Club Secretary at the Victory Services, adds: “We are very thankful to Drivers Direct for donating to the Victory Services Club. We make it our mission to aid ex-service personnel in their recovery after leaving the force.  For current serving personnel who have stood out to their peers, we make sure they are recognised and rewarded with breaks at the Club which they can enjoy with their families.  With this donation, we can continue to strive for the best possible experience for everyone that has served in the military, past or present.”
