Security Cleared Jobs, the UK job board for individuals with Security Clearance working across all sectors will be holding its second Security Cleared Expo in May

Due to the success of the first Security Cleared Expo, held in Westminster in 2010, the organisers have decided to produce a similar exhibition in Bristol in order to open up the opportunities it offers to those working in the region and throughout the UK. The exhibition will be held at Brunel’s Old Station on 5th May 2011, from 10am to 4.30pm and is free to attend for pre-registered candidates.

The team at Security Cleared Jobs has seen a growing need for security cleared professionals in recent years and launched its first Security Cleared Expo in 2010 in an effort to meet this demand. This event was extremely successful, attended by around 1,200 candidates and receiving positive feedback from both attendees and exhibitors.

Security Cleared Jobs has a wealth of expertise in this niche area and the Bristol Expo will be the first event of its kind in the UK this year to offer a well organised, productive environment in which those with security clearance seeking a new job or a career change can meet with potential employers.

The Security Cleared Expo 2011 is free to attend for all candidates who pre-register on the exhibition website: www.securityclearedexpo.com

Tony Samuel, Security Cleared Jobs Sales Director commented: “We received so much positive feedback after our first Expo in London last year that it was an easy decision to put on a second event in 2011. We talked to both clients and candidates and Bristol was identified as a preferred location, with the region having a large representation from the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear sectors.

“2010 was a tough year for everybody involved in the Central Government and Defence market places with the cuts that swept through these sectors. It is refreshing to see so many exhibitors already interested in the Bristol Expo. So far 2011 has started very positively and the Expo is already almost sold out. We are planning another London Expo for autumn of this year!”

David Mills, Global Sourcing Expert at EADS added: “We attended the first Security Cleared Jobs Expo in Westminster last year. As it was the first of its kind we were not sure what to expect. Our stand had a queue from the moment the doors opened until they shut! We were very pleased with the fact that a large number of the candidates that we met that day matched the profiles that we were interested in recruiting.

“Based on this great experience, we decided early on that we would want to attend the Bristol event and to meet jobseekers who would be interested in working for any part of EADS, which includes Airbus, Astrium, Cassidian, EADS Innovation Works and Eurocopter. As Airbus and Cassidian are based locally and Astrium has a number of operations in the South West, we thought that it would be ideal for us to meet people in Bristol. We will be there to meet candidates who would be interested in working for any part of EADS locally, throughout the UK and internationally.”

Security Cleared Jobs assists employers with reducing the time taken and cost incurred when recruiting security cleared staff. The service makes redeployment much easier for candidates, as those seeking work can upload their CV and job preferences directly to the website free of charge.

Gaining security clearance is often a long and arduous process. Security Cleared Jobs eases job transition for candidates by making their CV available to prospective employers, allowing employers to transfer their clearance instead of having to apply again for clearance for each new employee.
