A record 34 London-based employers have been honoured this year with a Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award…
These employers have set an outstanding example for others to follow by employing reserves, veterans and the partners of service personnel. They will be presented with their award at the prestigious Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly, on Monday 25th November.
Representing a range of sectors including the NHS, technology, security, shipping and financial services, the MOD rewards these employers who have delivered forces-friendly initiatives in the workplace, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the Armed Forces community.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
The ERS is designed primarily to recognise private sector support although public sector organisations such as the emergency services, local authorities, NHS trusts and executive agencies are also eligible to be recognised.
