What to expect

Our careers open days are a chance for you to find out what it is like to work for MBDA, in the way that will always be more insightful than a job ad or website… by talking to your potential future colleagues.

Representative from all our business functions will be in attendance, as well as additional friendly faces from our Resourcing team to help guide you to the right people on the day.

We are always happy to speak to passionate people, ready to help shape the future of defence, wherever you may be in your career.

Who is the event for?

As a business, we design and manufacture missiles and complex missile systems, so require a wide breadth of skills to deliver and develop our products.

Around 60% of our roles are in some form of Technical / Engineering capacity, including Systems, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Projects and much more. While our challenges and products may be complex and different to most industries, we welcome experienced professionals from a range of backgrounds who can bring unique expertise and insights.

As a large UK employer and an international business, we also have all the roles you would expect of such an organisation. From HR to Commercial, and Finance to IT Support, there’s opportunities for all.

We are proud to be an award-winning employer, and an inclusive one. We welcome and encourage applicants/attendees from all backgrounds. We are always looking to expand and diversify our talent pool, as we know that a diverse workplace breeds collaboration and innovation.

MBDA representatives from some of our inclusivity employee networks will be in attendance on the day of the event, should you wish to discuss anything with them.

MBDA Stevenage

Stevenage is our largest and most diverse site in the UK, with a real ‘campus feel’ to it. In addition to a wide variety of labs, testing facilities and offices, we have an on-site gym, secure parking, and heavily subsidised eateries, serving delicious hot and cold food. You’ll even find umbrellas by the doors to keep you dry on your stroll to our atrium cafe!

Situated a few minutes’ walk from Stevenage train station, and moments from the A1(M), our site is an easy commute from numerous places, including London, the Midlands, Cambridgeshire and more. With most roles offering hybrid-working options, there’s a good chance you’ll only need to travel a few days anyway!

Apprenticeships, Graduate Schemes, and more!

Many of our employees, including members of our senior leadership teams, joined MBDA through one of our Early Careers Programmes. Our entry schemes offer a variety of options, all of which you can find detailed further on this website.

At the open day event you can speak directly with our Early Careers Resourcing team, as well as with current employees on our apprenticeship and graduate programmes.

Most of our programmes for 2023 are accepting applications now, so make sure search and apply for one soon! Just head to our job search page and use the Early Career filters to find the right programme for you.

Attending the event

We strongly recommend registering for the event before attending (see link at top of page). Registering in advance will help us determine your suitability before the open day, as well as being able to instantly apply to roles during or after the event.

Doors are open for entry on the day between 9AM and 12:15PM. We advise arriving in the morning to allow yourself sufficient time to talk to our colleagues.

You will need to bring photo ID to attend the event and will be asked for a few details on arrival.

As a defence company, we have strict regulations around security and vetting new personnel. Please review our Security and Vetting page before attending.
