PARA Platoon: Earning The Maroon Beret, the exclusive series that follows the 28-week Parachute Regiment training course, has been shortlisted for an EVCOM Screen Award

BFBS TV was given unique access to film behind-the-scenes footage and interview recruits and staff to discover what it really takes to earn the coveted maroon beret.

Series producer and director, Paul Condon, will be attending the EVCOM Screen Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday 27th March, when the winners will be announced.

“A nomination from our industry peers is something we’re very proud to achieve. For the first time in more than 30 years, cameras were allowed behind the scenes to film one of the toughest courses in Britain’s Armed Forces,” he said.

“It was a privilege to be granted such extraordinary access and to capture the raw determination and grit needed to earn the beret of airborne forces. And to be broadcast on an exciting new channel like Forces TV was especially welcome.”

The 2015 EVCOM Screen Awards recognise excellence in corporate communication, business, television, film, video and digital media, and winners of each category enjoy national and international recognition.
