The UK military and NHS have often worked together over the years, including NHS Reservists working with Forces’ medical teams on frontline field hospitals in Afghanistan, to aftercare programmes for military service leavers.

Now in this time of major crisis, the military and NHS have once again joined in unity across a number of fronts, including military drivers supplying frontline NHS workers with face masks and protective equipment to establishing the opening of NHS Nightingale – a new temporary hospital facility based on the ExCel site in London aimed at coping with extra demand for patients at the peak of this outbreak.

Now Pathfinder International is launching our own campaign as a mark of respect to the efforts of ALL of our services – Armed and Emergency, entitled “SOS – Support Our Services”.

In the next issue of Pathfinder, which also doubles up as our special VE Day 75 anniversary special, we will be including a pull out poster of a Union Jack with the message “We Support Our Services”. As a show of support to our services, we ask the general public display these posters in your own homes in time for VE Day on May 8 2020.

If we can not celebrate VE Day 75 as we should, due to the COVID19 restrictions, then at least we can show our support to a band of colleagues all helping our nation.

The Union Jack posters will also be available to download on the Pathfinder website and social media channels to print off in your own homes nearer the time. Please keep following the Pathfinder social media channels for further updates.

To be on the mailing list for the next issue of Pathfinder, which also includes exclusive interviews with World War 2 veterans on the anniversary of VE Day and a souvenir front cover, please email editor, Mal Robinson at MRobinson@balticpublications.co.uk

Please engage and share in this campaign with us and “Support Our Services!”
