For the first time ever, BFBS Radio 2 listeners overseas will be able to hear the BBC Proms in the Park concert live on Saturday 7th September.

Service personnel and their families can tune in to BFBS Radio 2 to get a flavour of the flag waving, the pomp, the circumstance and the music, from across the Forces world.

The Last Night of the Proms event in Hyde Park will be broadcast to BFBS listeners from 5.15pm (UKT).

Sir Terry Wogan will be presenting the concert along with special guest Dame Edna Everage. They’ll be joined on stage by British pop royalty, Bryan Ferry, and classical stars such as violinist Nigel Kennedy and tenor Joseph Calleja, alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Choral Society.

Head of BFBS Radio 2, Mario Chrisostomou said: “Whether it’s coverage of cultural events, current affairs, news, sport or comedy, we’re proud to bring our BFBS audience overseas the very Best of British – and it doesn’t get much better, or more British, than The Last Night of the Proms celebrations.”
