RAF Benevolent Fund has announced the winners of its annual awards, recognising the contribution of fundraisers, volunteers and partners supporting the RAF community.
The awards ceremony, held in London on 30 April, brought together RAF personnel, veterans and supporters to celebrate individuals and organisations backing the charity’s work.
Among the headline winners, RAF Leeming was named RAF Station of the Year, while cybersecurity company Fortinet received Partnership of the Year.

The “Heart of the Fund” award was presented posthumously to Second World War veteran George Dunn in recognition of nearly two decades of fundraising and support for the charity. Dunn died two days before the ceremony, but representatives from the Fund visited him and his family beforehand to present the award.
Fund ambassador Bob Greig also received the “Heart of the Fund” award for his advocacy work following life-changing injuries sustained in a parachuting accident.
Fundraiser of the Year went to cycling team Riding on Air, which raised more than £58,000 for the Fund’s Airplay youth programme after completing a 600-mile ride between RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Wyton.
Other winners included 27 Squadron, which was named RAF Formation or Squadron of the Year, and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which received a Special Recognition award.
Air Vice-Marshal Chris Elliot, chief executive of the RAF Benevolent Fund, said the awards highlighted the “extraordinary support” provided by fundraisers, volunteers and partner organisations across the RAF community.
