SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity will be hosting a joint event with the British Embassy, Berlin (BEB) to allow veterans and service personnel the opportunity to ask questions regarding Britain’s exit from the European Union.

The event will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams and will take place on Tuesday 8 December from 16:00 to 17:30 (UK Time) (17:00-18:30 CET). This will allow veterans and serving personnel to ask questions about applying for residency during the transition period following Britain’s exit from the European Union.

SSAFA is working alongside the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and other partners to assist British Nationals in countries across Europe as Britain exits the European Union.

The Government fund particularly aims to help pensioners, disabled people, those living in remote areas or those who need language translation with paperwork. SSAFA’s support to veterans and currently serving is in addition to guidance provided by British embassies.

SSAFA leading the initiative across the four Landers: Hamburg, Bremen, Niedersachsen and Nordrhein-Westfalen.  Another other Implementing Partner – Immigration Office of Migration (IOM) are supporting the project across the other 12 landers in Germany.

If you would like to attend the event, please register your interest at https://ssaf.as/berlin or if you would like to find out more about receiving support, please email UKVIE.Support@ssafa.org.uk

The event is to answer questions on the registration in Germany and not any other issues (such as tax, pensions and Krankenkasse).
