SSAFA Invites public to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2026 with the Award-Winning 13 Bridges Challenge

London will once again come together in support of the Armed Forces community on Saturday 27 June 2026, as SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, hosts its unique and award-winning walking event: the 13 Bridges Challenge.

The popular annual event invites people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to take part in a spectacular 10-mile walk through the heart of London, crossing 13 iconic bridges while raising awareness and support for the UK’s military community. On the day walkers will follow the route map along a criss-crossing path which will cover 13 of London’s most iconic bridges. Around the course, at each end of the bridges (and any other tricky points along the route), there will be military Event Marshals, there to show you the way and chat to you about their roles within the military.

Participants will enjoy stunning riverside views, famous landmarks, and an unforgettable atmosphere as walkers unite to celebrate Armed Forces Day in true military style. Families, friends, veterans, serving personnel, supporters — and even a few four-legged companions — are all encouraged to get involved.
