We provide bespoke tailored solutions on all aspects of financial planning for current and ex-service personnel, as well as expertise in wills and probate, matrimonial issues and military criminal law advice.
Our team has a strong presence in this area beyond our clients, and are hugely committed to supporting and assisting armed forces personnel. We regularly organise conferences for military support groups and charities, which have focused on issues such as dealing with the transition from military to civilian life and also life after serious injury. In March 2020, Hugh James signed the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) as part of the firms’ ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces and their families.
The military department is run by Simon Ellis who has been at Hugh James for over 20 years. Simon works on behalf of current and former military personnel and regularly advises clients who have been unable to get legal help elsewhere. Simon frequently contributes articles for the press relating to military legal issues.
