Veterans Pride event to bring Armed Forces LGBTQIA+ community together in Liverpool

LGBTQIA+ veterans, serving personnel and allies will come together in Liverpool for Veterans Pride on Friday 24 July 2026.

The event will be held at HMS Eaglet, 80 Sefton Street, East Brunswick Dock, from 6pm until 11.55pm.

Organisers said Veterans Pride is intended to provide an opportunity for members of the Armed Forces LGBTQIA+ community to reflect on, recognise and celebrate their experiences.

The Rainbow Honours-recognised event will follow a cabaret-style format and will include an arrival drink, a hot buffet and dessert.

Guests are encouraged to dress in a way that makes them feel comfortable, with organisers describing the dress code as “authentically glamorous”. While the event is traditionally black tie, attendees are not expected to spend money on formal clothing.

Local community charities will also host stalls during the evening, giving attendees the opportunity to network and learn more about available support.

Scottish singer and songwriter Horse McDonald will headline the event. Her career has spanned more than three decades and has included performances alongside artists including Tina Turner, BB King, Bryan Ferry and Burt Bacharach. Her song Careful was later covered by Will Young.

Amanda Collier, who appeared as a Faithful in the fourth series of BBC programme The Traitors, will deliver a keynote speech about her experiences in the police and her time on the show.

West End performer Gillian Hardie will return to host Veterans Pride for a second year.

Singer and saxophonist Jess Stretton will also perform, with a repertoire covering dance, pop, swing, jazz and other genres.

The event will include a fine art exhibition by RAF veteran Dr David Iddon. The Liverpool-born artist will display In the Navy, a collection exploring the theme of “Vintage Love”.

Tickets cost £20.
