On Thursday 23 June 2016, come and join The Poppy Factory’s Armed Forces Day celebrations at St John the Divine, Kew Road, Richmond TW9 2NA, a short walk from Richmond station…

The Poppy Factory is hosting a celebratory concert to raise funds for its work to help wounded, injured and sick veterans find meaningful and sustainable employment wherever they live around the United Kingdom.

Tickets are £15 each for an entertaining evening filled with a mixture of traditional music and some more surprising contemporary pieces with The Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division and The Band of The Adjutant General’s Corps joining forces and showcasing the breadth of musical talent within the British military.

Jamie Crick, BBC Surrey & Sussex and Jazz FM’s breakfast show presenter, is taking on the role of the evening’s MC.

Fresh from fanfare duty at the official opening of the National Assembly of Wales, announcing HM The Queen’s arrival earlier this month, The Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division is performing works by Sparke (Jubilee Overture and Flowerdale), Jacob (Sospan Fach), Hall (Legends of Cyfartha), Barry (Castleway), Richards (Breezin’ Down Broadway) and Haydn (Cello Concerto).

Linking up with The Band of the Adjutant General’s Corps for some of the pieces, they will present a joint contemporary version of Aaron Copland’s ‘Fanfare for the Common Man’ and a finale of Martin Bunce’s ‘Marianne’, composed for Big Band with Flugelhorn solo and the pop classic ‘Music’ by John Miles.

Tickets are £15 each including refreshments and can be obtained fromwww.poppyfactory.org/concert or by calling 020 8939 1829.
