Veterans in England and Wales will benefit from a grant of £130,000, which was awarded to Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity…
The funds will support ex-service personnel across both England and Wales, providing them with supported accommodation dedicated for Veterans. This in turn will provide them with the environment they need to make positive life changes and make the transition in to independent living.
Andrew Lord, Chief Executive, Alabaré Christian Care & Support said: “Alabaré welcome the generous financial support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for our work with Veterans. Through grants such as these we are able to ensure Alabaré is there for them, to help them regain their confidence, build skills and become ready to live successful, independent lives once more.”
The grant will support Veterans across 10 geographical locations, who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. This can come as a result of a number of issues including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, ill health, unemployment, family breakdown or similar.
Alabaré provide dedicated support to Veterans across the South of England and Wales – specifically; Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset as well as North and South Wales. On any given night Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans are able to keep over 115 Veterans off the streets, making Alabaré the largest provider of supported accommodation for working age veterans outside of London.
