Captain Tom Moore has been honoured with a special Pride Of Britain award.

The 99-year old veteran was presented with the award via video link by TV personality Carol Vorderman on Good Morning Britain in an early birthday surprise.

His fundraising walks have captured the hearts of the nation, raising over £28M in the process after initially wanting to raise £1,000 for NHS Charities.

Carol Vorderman revealed that the Pride of Britain team had received thousands of nominations supporting Captain Tom to receive an award following his outstanding efforts during COVID19.

The awards are traditionally announced in autumn, but the panel of organisers took an unprecedented step of announcing Captain Tom in advance of this.

Receiving the award, Captain Tom said: “I’m in totally awe of this award, it’s such a prestigious one, and thank you to everyone who has voted.”

Well done from us all at Pathfinder once again Captain Tom!
