The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has announced the latest awards made under the Armed Forces Covenant Local Grants Programme, supporting community integration and local delivery of services to military communities…

Following this current round of grant making, almost half a million pounds will now support projects across the UK, including six projects specifically working in Northern Ireland ranging from a peer support group to help reduce isolation and mental health issues amongst Veterans; to horticulture and nature-based therapy courses.

Policy Director at the Trust, Sonia Howe, said: “Once again we’re pleased with the wide range of projects this vital funding is supporting. This is the fifth and final year of the programme in its current form and we look forward to sharing more information about a new local grants programme later this year”.

In other areas, the Trust awarded grants to support a wide range of activities including water sports in Wales, a theatre project in the North East and early-years music in the West Midlands. A full list of grants awarded at this round can be found on the Trust’s website www.covenantfund.org.uk.

The final closing date for the Local Grants programme in 2019 is 2nd December. The Trust is developing a new local grants programme, and will release more information about this in late November 2019.
