If you purchase a home through Help to Buy, sub-letting of the home is allowed by a serving member of the Armed Forces whose tour of duty requires them to serve away from the area in which they live for a fixed period.

If you are a serving member of the British Armed Forces, or have been honourably discharged in the last 2 years, then you will receive priority for buying a home through Shared Ownership.

Alternatively, you can try theForces Help to Buy Schemewhich is specifically for Armed Forces personnel. This scheme allows you to borrow up to 50% of your salary, interest free, to buy your first home, move to another property on assignment or as your family’s needs change.

You can find out more about these schemes on our website –www.helptobuynw.org.uk – or give us a call on 0300 790 0570.
